First Lady donates medical equipment

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has donated an assortment of hospital equipment for dental, cataract and disability to the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony held at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare recently, the First Lady said the equipment comprises of eight dental treatment units, 2000 kits for eye cataracts, wheel chairs, clutches, foil care beds and walkers among others, sourced through her organization, Angel of Hope Foundation.

First Lady donates 10 Samba 11 machines to MoHCC

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has donated 10 Samba 11 point of care machines valued at US$4 000 to the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Officially handing over the machines to the Ministry of Health and Child Care at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare recently, the First Lady said the point-of care machines were donated to her by Dr. Helen Lee, Founder and CEO of Diagnostics for the Real World.

Let us unite and fight cancer: First Lady

The First Lady Amai Auxilia Mnangagwa implored all stakeholders in the health sector, Government and the media to unite and raise awareness on early cervical cancer screening to save lives.

She said this while officiating at the World Cancer Day commemoration at Kowoyo Clinic in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East Province as part of cancer awareness campaign across the world.

Need for public health awareness on Alcohol and Substance use.

At least1000 people a year die from alcohol related road traffic accidents and 3000 people sustain substance related injuries in the country.
Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Obadiah Moyo said this during a Stakeholders Meeting on Treatment and Rehabilitation of Alcohol and Substance use Disorders in Zimbabwe held in Harare today.
“Alcohol and substance use disorders contribute significantly to disease burden worldwide and in Zimbabwe. These disorders are becoming a heavy burden to the families, communities, the health system as well as the national economy.
In Zimbabwe, 1000 people a year die from alcohol related road traffic accidents and 3000 people sustain substance related injuries,” Minister Moyo said.
