Commemoration of World Hospice and Palliative Care day

Ministry of Health and Child Care joined the rest of the world in celebrating Hospice and Palliative Care Day yesterday under the theme “Palliative care: My care, My Right”.

The day was commemorated globally every year on the second Saturday of October concurrently with the hats on-Day for children’s Palliative Care which is observed annually on the second Friday of October.


Zimbabwe to receive GFF funding

Zimbabwe is set to receive GFF funding to support reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH-N).

Zimbabwe like other 35 low-and lower- middle- income countries stand to benefit from the Global Financing Facility (GFF) an innovative approach to financing that sees countries significantly increase investment in the health of their own people.


Zimbabwe’s HIV prevalence rate declines: ZIMPHIA

The HIV prevalence rate in the country has dropped from 29% recorded in 1999 to the current 14.1% amongst the adult population.

Director in the AIDS and TB Unit, Ministry of Health and Child Care of Zimbabwe, Dr. Owen Mugurungi has said officiating the Zimbabwe Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (ZIMPHIA 2020) national sensitization meeting in Harare recently.
