Contributing during the ongoing World Health Assembly (WHA) 74 Session on the aspect of ‘Patient Safety, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Immunisation Agenda’, Ministry of Health and Child Care Chief Director Curative Services, Dr Maxwell Hove explained that the country had put in place a plan to deal with AMR.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has reiterated its commitment to prioritise patient safety as a core component of its services, this was said by Chief Director Curative Services, Dr. Maxwell Hove during the ongoing 74 edition of the World Health Assembly speaking on behalf of Zimbabwe.
During the ongoing World Health Assembly (WHA) 74th Session running under the theme “Ending this pandemic, preventing the next: building together a healthier, safer and fairer world”, Zimbabwe has called for increased funding of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

Chiwenga has launched the Integrated Typhoid Conjugative Vaccination (TCV) Campaign which is going to run from 24 May to 4 June 2021, in a bid to improve the quality of life of Zimbabwean citizens particularly children by protecting them from disease outbreaks like Typhoid using vaccines.
