Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care Honorable General (Rtd) Dr. C.G.D.N. Chiwenga officially re-opened St-Anne’s Harare Hospital after a 5-year closure for repairs and maintenance where he acknowledged the role which is being played by the church in complimenting government’s efforts in the provision of health care services in the country.
As the country has managed to contain the spread of COVID-19, some communities are now letting down the bars by failing to adhere to stipulated preventative measures, this was announced by the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa in a 17th post Cabinet media briefing yesterday.
In order to embrace the new normal where nearly everything is done virtually, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has developed an application that educates the public on COVID-19 which is now available on Google Play Store and Apple AppStore, this was announced in a post Cabinet media briefing by Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa.
Contributing during the ongoing World Health Assembly (WHA) 74 Session on the aspect of ‘Patient Safety, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Immunisation Agenda’, Ministry of Health and Child Care Chief Director Curative Services, Dr Maxwell Hove explained that the country had put in place a plan to deal with AMR.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has reiterated its commitment to prioritise patient safety as a core component of its services, this was said by Chief Director Curative Services, Dr. Maxwell Hove during the ongoing 74 edition of the World Health Assembly speaking on behalf of Zimbabwe.
