The Ministry of Health and Child Care held a guided tour at Mahusekwa District Hospital, Mashonaland East Province recently, as part of the 5-day media training exercise on outbreaks and immunisation that was held at Ochi Safaris.
While officially commissioning the new National Pharmaceutical Warehouse in Harare last Thursday, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa called upon Ministry of Health and NatPharm to focus on local manufacturing of affordable and quality medicines.
During the commissioning ceremony for the new National Pharmaceutical Warehouse in Harare last Thursday, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the new facility had increased floor space which enables storage of large quantities of medicines and improvement in the health delivery system towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.
In his remarks at the official handover and commissioning of the new National Pharmaceutical Warehouse last Thursday, Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr. C.G.D.N. Chiwenga the plan is to make NatPharm the strategic supplier of medicines and medical consumables in the country.
Addressing delegates at the ongoing United Nations 77th Session running under the theme“A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges”, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the COVID-19 pandemic had overstretched the healthcare systems and exposed the differences between developed and developing countries.
