Zimbabwe gets accreditation for the field epidemiology training program.
Zimbabwe was recently awarded accreditation for the Zimbabwe Field Epidemiology Training Program (ZimEFTP).
In 2017, the Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET) global public health accrediting body conducted a site visit to assess the ZimFETP for accreditation. Following a weeklong intensive assessment, the program was recommended for accreditation.
Fistula Repairs bring hope
The Ministry of Health and Child Care’s fistula repair program supported by UNFPA and Women and Health Alliance (WAHA) is bringing hope to various women and their families in Zimbabwe.
The program which is being carried out at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital has benefited a number of women who had lost hope.
Zimbabwe marks World Tuberculosis Day 2018
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has responded to the global strategy and developed a health sector strategic response to end Tuberculosis (TB) in Zimbabwe by the year 2030.
The goal of the strategy is to reduce death rates by 80 per cent, incidence by 90 per cent and remove catastrophic costs to patients.
The Minister of Health and Child Care Hon. David Parirenyatwa made these known in a key note address at the commemoration of this year’s World Tuberculosis Day, Saturday in Harare.
