The outbreak of COVID-19 resulted in a disruption of normal services across the world punctuated with lockdowns, but thanks to the Health Development Fund (HDF) supported Results-Based Financing (RBF), Mberengwa District Hospital one of the recipients of such funds was able to continue to offer various health services to the population.
Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Constantino Chiwenga yesterday submitted the Ministry’s five-year plans of action in fulfilment of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) in line with a directive given by President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the 40th Cabinet meeting of 2020 which he also reiterated during the first 2021 Cabinet meeting.

In order to have an efficient and smooth running health delivery system, Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Heath Services Amendment Bill which will see the transformation of the Health Services Board (HSB)into the Health Services Commission (HSC).
The reduction of COVID-19 cases in Zimbabwe is anchored on the uptake of the vaccine among other preventive measures.
Health experts are encouraging people to be vaccinated to ensure their safety by boosting their immunity to effectively fight the virus.
