Pathology Services Directorate in the Ministry of Health and Child Care coordinates and facilitates the provision of pathology diagnostic services for clinical, preventive and medico-legal services in the public sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To be a Pathology Diagnostic Service of international repute by 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To provide quality, accessible and affordable pathology diagnostic services in a timely department:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Education and training<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Coordinates training programs for pathology human resource development<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pathology Quality Assurance<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Coordinates and facilitates the provision of internationally accepted standard of diagnostic services<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forensic services<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Coordinates the provision of medico-legal diagnostic services<\/li>\n<li><strong>Molecular Pathology and Immunohistochemistry<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Coordinates and facilitate the provision of molecular diagnostic services essential for targeted drug therapy<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clinical Pathology<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 provides laboratory medicine diagnostic services such as bone marrows, Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">To timely provide the best quality laboratory services and results to clients, in order to fulfill the laboratory services role in the health delivery system.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"left\"><strong>OVERARCHING GOAL<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A coordinated public health laboratory services strengthened and functioning according to the adopted standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Strategic Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Establish a framework within which planning and development of an integrated laboratory service delivery system will be operational.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and implement operational standards and guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Define and staff the laboratory services system with roles and responsibilities and manage to be functional.<\/li>\n<li>Establish a centralized management information system (MIS) for the laboratory service network for informed decision-making.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement a Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement Programs for laboratory services.<\/li>\n<li>Advocate for an efficient and effective procurement and maintenance system to be established and implemented.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p
